We are hiring a Software Engineer – Backend to join our product engineering organization and help us build, evolve, and scale Manufacturo’s SaaS platform. This is a role for someone with strong backend experience who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with data and APIs, and building reliable software for operational workflows.

The Role

As a Software Engineer – Backend at Manufacturo, you will work on a complex product used to manage manufacturing operations. Your main focus will be our core platform, with production at its center and close connections to planning, inventory, quality, and shopfloor workflows.

This is a backend-first, hands-on engineering role with real ownership. You will build product features, design APIs, model business logic and data structures, and contribute to the technical quality, maintainability, and reliability of the platform.

You will work closely with other engineers, product owners, testers, and UX/UI designers to understand business needs, clarify requirements, identify technical risks, and deliver practical solutions.

This role is a good fit for someone who can work independently, contribute to technical discussions, and make pragmatic engineering decisions without losing sight of long-term quality.

You should be comfortable working in a high-change environment where priorities can evolve, context changes quickly, and teams need to keep delivering value without compromising engineering standards.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and evolve a complex SaaS platform supporting real manufacturing operations

  • Design APIs, business logic, and data models for workflows across production, planning, inventory, quality, and shopfloor operations

  • Improve the reliability, maintainability, and performance of the system as it grows

  • Investigate and resolve issues across application logic, databases, integrations, and distributed services

  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, testers, and designers to clarify requirements and deliver practical technical solutions

  • Contribute to code reviews, technical decisions, automated testing, and the continuous improvement of engineering practices

  • Use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, investigation, and learning

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience and strong practical knowledge of C# and .NET

  • Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Entity Framework or a similar ORM

  • Experience designing REST/HTTP APIs and implementing backend business logic for production systems

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code while making pragmatic technical and design decisions

  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into reliable technical solutions

  • Practical use of AI-assisted development tools and good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective day-to-day collaboration in an international environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Angular or another modern frontend framework and a full-stack mindset

  • Experience with Azure services, asynchronous messaging, or tools such as MassTransit

  • Experience with application performance, SQL optimization, CI/CD, or cloud-based delivery

  • Experience or genuine interest in SaaS, ERP, MES, manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, or other complex industrial domains
