German-Finnish joint venture adopts Manufacturo as it scales toward several dozen SAR satellites a year for the Bundeswehr’s SPOCK 1 program
Neuss, Germany and Kraków, Poland, November 4, 2026 — Manufacturo was selected by Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions (RISS) – the joint venture that provides the German Armed Forces with sovereign SAR-based reconnaissance capabilities – as the integrated management solution for production and quality control. The platform will underpin RISS’s ramp-up to series production of SAR satellites in Neuss, connecting supply chain, production, and quality data across every build.
Founded in November 2025 by Rheinmetall (60%) and ICEYE (40%), Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions won the Bundeswehr’s SPOCK 1 contract a month later. The deal, worth about €1.7 billion gross, covers SAR reconnaissance from a sovereign constellation that RISS owns and operates. Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions recently started SAR satellite production in Neuss, where production, integration, testing, and quality assurance sit under one roof to establish industrial-scale SAR satellite production in Germany.
As manufacturing activities scale, every incoming part, assembly step, and inspection has to be recorded and auditable for a defense customer. Manufacturo was selected for its ability to provide end-to-end traceability, support a rapidly scaling manufacturing environment, and integrate production, inventory, and quality management within a single system. As a result, each satellite's as-built record can be maintained from supplier receipt through to final test.
